Louisville Geek’s commitment to providing customers of all sizes with proven and reliable computer, networking, cloud computing, telephone, software development and website services and support has fueled the managed information technology services company’s success, landed the company on Business First’s Fast 50 list of the region’s fastest-growing firms seven years in a row and resulted in Louisville Geek outgrowing its original St. Matthews office.
Recognizing the need for more space to accommodate growing operations and staff, Louisville Geek in 2017 purchased and began reinvigorating a historic Bourbon distillery and warehouse in the Irish Hill neighborhood’s Distillery Commons facility. The complex’s first buildings date to the 1890s and, at one time, constituted the world’s largest Bourbon distilling and warehousing operations. Brands from Old Grand-Dad, Old Crow and Old Taylor were produced and aged at the site, where the millionth barrel was celebrated in 1948.
As the Bourbon industry changed, and operations and warehousing moved to other locations, Distillery Commons underwent changes and found new life housing a variety of firms. Today the buildings’ style, architecture and longevity remain a testament to the original design’s integrity and construction.
In July 2018, Louisville Geek completed the comprehensive renovation of building 700, ensuring customers receive the benefits of Louisville Geek’s teams and employees working from a state-of-the-art facility designed to support the needs, workflows and requirements of the contemporary technology operation. In addition to installing an elevator, a glass curtain on the building’s northern face and completely refitting the building’s electric, mechanical, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, Louisville Geek installed multiple Internet circuits, robust wireless networks and advanced security controls to ensure the new headquarters site exceeds future needs.
Come witness the service and commitment that’s helping make Louisville Geek one of the region’s fastest-growing firms, and take in some history at the same time. Visit us in our new offices at 700 Distillery Commons.
