Louisville Geek on Fast 50 List for 9th Year

The annual Fast 50 Awards recognize the 50 fastest growing independent and privately held companies in Louisville. Going into its 21st year, the celebration was hosted via a live virtual event on Tuesday, October 7th, and honored the 50 fastest-growing companies from 2019. This was the first year that the celebration was hosted virtually, and not in person. Each organization that made the list received one complimentary “ticket” into the event and any additional people that wanted to attend could purchase an entry into the event for $25.00. Keynote speaker, Terry Jones founder of Travelocity and Founding Chairman of Kayak.com, headlined the event with his take on innovation and disruption in the digital world. Throughout the event, attendees were able to send in texts and hashtags through the live feed, to cheer on and congratulate all the nominees.

What are the criteria to qualify for the Fast 50?

To be eligible for the Fast 50 Awards, a business must have attained significant revenue growth or an average of $5 million in revenue over a three-year operating sales period. Any company that is interested in qualifying for this award must agree to have their annual revenue figures published by Louisville Business First and be in one of the 13 counties that make up the Louisville Metropolitan area.

Why is this an important recognition?

Operating a business under any circumstances is an enormous challenge. The dedication, passion, and discipline it takes to build a business is a feat, but building said business while growing annual revenue year over year should be applauded and honored. With annual revenue growth, these companies can increase their workforce and provide jobs to many in their surrounding communities, contribute to our economy, and become beacons of expertise in their industry. Additionally, with such vast growth, these companies can expand their empire into other locations and bring exposure to Louisville.
