Stern warning comes after several Ukranian organizations were struck.

On January 18, 2022, the CISA issued a severe warning to all organizations in the US: “Every Organization in the United States is at risk from cyber threats.”

Translation: Nobody is safe.

The report indicates that several public and private entities in Ukraine have suffered a series of malicious cyber incidents, including destructive malware, website defacement, and other malicious acts.

The CISA Insights strongly urges organizations, regardless of sector and size, to immediately implement the steps outlined below.

• Validate that all remote access to the organization’s network and privileged or administrative access requires multi-factor authentication.
• Ensure that software is up to date, prioritizing updates that address known exploited vulnerabilities identified by CISA.
• Confirm that the organization’s IT personnel have disabled all ports and protocols that are not essential for business purposes.
